Zayn Malik sparks Twitter feud with Calvin Harris over Taylor Swift

Zayn Malik has sparked a Twitter feud on Monday night with Calvin Harris over a post about the latter's sweetheart Taylor Swift.

It all began when Zayn Malik retweeted a post from another Twitter user that compared Taylor Swift's move to withdraw her music from Spotify and Miley Cyrus' contentment with her achievement. The talented DJ immediately swooped to Swift's defense and lashed out at the former One Direction member and the original poster, according to The Huffington Post.

The original post, which has since been deleted from Twitter, featured Swift saying her fans can still listen to her music on iTunes, although she has already pulled it out from Spotify. It also remarked on the "astounding" difference between the two female artists.

"I've made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It's fine," the Huffpost quotes Cyrus in the controversial tweet. "I've got a house, and I've got dogs that I love. I don't need anything else."

Harris apparently saw Malik's retweet as a dig at his girlfriend, so he angrily tweeted back at the former boyband member and the original poster.

"@FemaleTexts @zaynmalik You've made your money? Cool...f*ck the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? Yeah f*ck em," said Harris.

The superstar DJ also followed it with another post explaining how other artists and songwriters also benefit from the success of one artist. Harris said while "kids" like Malik are enjoying the Teen Choice Awards, there are songwriters working hard to make their new music in order to survive, Entertainment Weekly relays.

Malik did not back down and told Harris that he had just made an "absolute fool" of himself because he did not understand what he was talking about. On top of that, he added as an afterthought that he writes his own stuff.

At that point, Harris waved the white flag and said it was "all good." Swift's boyfriend said it was the quote that he was angry at and not at Malik himself. He ended the furious exchange with a "genuine" good luck wish for the former 1D member and a compliment on his voice.

However, the feud between Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris has just sparked more fiery reactions from other celebrities. One Direction member Louis Tomlinson later joined the bandwagon and sided with Harris on the issue.
