Zendaya and Karrueche Tran React to Kylie Jenner Blackface Photo
Last week, Kylie Jenner drew the ire of many people when she posted a picture on her Instagram account which shows her in dark, shimmering makeup, as many thought that the reality star was in blackface.
Following the backlash, the 17-year old "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star edited the caption of her original Instagram post, which she had shared on Saturday afternoon.
The post originally read, "What I wish I looked like all the time." Kylie changed it to, "This is a black light and neon lights people let's all calm down."
Kylie also took to Twitter to defend herself from critics.
"The photographer used a black light and neon lights for those photos. Yes, in another world I wish I could have pink hair & blue eyes and be covered in sparkles. But in this world I'm happy the way God created me. Happy Easter everybody," she wrote.
A few celebrities have weighed in on the controversial photos since then. Karrueche Tran tweeted, "You're beautiful just as you are girl…The point is…Nobody needs to wish they look like anything…We are all individually beautiful in our own way. Keep that [expletive] positive."
Former Disney star Zendaya was criticized by fans when she "liked" the photo and added a clapping hands emoji. After fans questioned her remark, she tweeted, "I didn't see it like that at first…That's crazy," adding "My baaaaaddd."
The 17-year-old appeared to be in a somber mood as she was photographed heading to church with her family on Sunday. She was also accompanied by her rumored boyfriend Tyga and his 2-year-old son, King.
