ZTE Nubia Z9 Max And Z9 Mini To Get Elite Editions

Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE will be releasing updated versions of its Nubia Z9 Max and its Nubia Z9 Mini, called Elite editions. The Nubia Z9 Max and Z9 Mini were released in the market earlier this year. The Elite editions, according to a Tech Times report, will have the same specifications but with a few improvements. The report cited leaked flyers of the new devices, which indicate that their release is imminent.

Promotional flyers of the Nubia Z9 Max Elite and the Nubia Z9 Mini Elite were leaked by MyDrivers, a Chinese website.

Among the features that were refreshed in the Elite version of the Nubia Z9 Max is the in-demand security feature, the fingerprint sensor. The report claims that this will be located in the phone's power button on the side of the device. It will also reportedly have a USB Type-C port which facilitates faster charging. As with the non-Elite version, the device will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon (Xiaolong) 810 processor, paired with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, expandable to 128 GB via microSD. Its display remains unchanged, with a 5.5-inch screen that has a 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. It has a 16 megapixel main camera and an 8 megapixel secondary or selfie camera. Battery capacity remains at 2,900 mAh.

As for the Nubia Z9 Mini, its Elite version will have a larger RAM, at 3 GB instead of just 2 GB. Other new features have to do with new software. It will still have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon (Xiaolong) 615 processor and 5-inch screen with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. Camera-wise, it retains its 16 megapixel rear camera and its 8 megapixel selfie camera. Like the Z9 Max, it sports a 2,900 mAh battery and has internal storage at 16 GB, expandable to 128 GB via microSD. Both units will support 4G connectivity as with their predecessors.

While the Tech Times report does not indicate a release date, another report in Phone Arena cites an October 29 launch date for both phones. Phone Arena also noted that the new devices may be introduced in the Chinese market first, and may make its way stateside after.
