10 Democrats looking to challenge Trump in 2020
Bernie Sanders
A Senator representing Vermont who identifies as a Democratic Socialist, Bernie Sanders performed surprisingly well against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic presidential primary.
Sen. Sanders announced his presidential campaign in an interview on Vermont Public Radio last week, explaining that he was building off of the movement he started in 2016.
“We began the political revolution in the 2016 campaign, and now it's time to move that revolution forward,” stated Sanders.
Even before he announced his plan to run again, Sanders had support, with an Iowa poll from last December putting Sanders in second place among possible Democrat candidates.
