'16 and Pregnant' Star Flees Florida to Escape Abuse, Baby Daddy Alleges Fake Pregnancy

Jennifer Del Rio has fled over a 1,000 miles to escape the man who is also the father of her children.

Jennifer Del Rio and Josh Smith, the father of her children, have had their share of domestic disputes. More than a year ago Del Rio was accused of assaulting Smith. It was not the first accusation, although Del Rio later defended herself and stated that Smith- who even then had posed a danger to her children- set her up.

Now in a further step, Del Rio has fled Florida allegedly for the safety of her kids. The reality star later appeared in Lake County, Illinois where she has filed for sole custody over her twin children, age 2, according to TMZ. Del Rio, 18, asserts that she has always been the primary care giver.

"In the docs, the 18-year-old says she's the primary caregiver of the couple's twin boys -- feeding them, bathing them and grooming them -- so it's in their best interest to stay with her permanently," TMZ reported.

Del Rios has claimed that she can no longer share custody with Smith due to domestic abuse.

"That's not all, Jennifer claims there's definitely NO WAY she can share custody with Joshua -- as is the current arrangement -- due to their history of domestic violence," TMZ continued.

In the past both parents have been arrested and accused of domestic abuse. Smith also accused Del Rios of being a "compulsive liar" last year, stating the she tricked him into impregnating her because she was anxious to get on the MTV reality show.

"She wanted so desperately to be on Sixteen and Pregnant," Josh said, according to the Hollywood Gossip in April of last year.

Smith accused Del Rios of lying about being pregnant to both him and his parents.

"She lied to me and my parents for three months saying she was pregnant," he alleged. "She was giving me sonogram pictures ... that she claimed was 'our baby' when actually it was her friend's sonogram pictures she copied."
