5 Christian Reactions to Church of England's Controversial Transgender Affirming Vote
3. Andrea Williams
Andrea Williams, the director of Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Center, two conservative Christian groups in the U.K., linked to her reaction to her speech during the Synod debate.
Williams addressed Archbishop of York John Sentamu as she explained how the Good News "extends its reach throughout all human history," and that it has played a vital role throughout U.K. society and many U.K. institutions.
She warned, however, that the sexual revolution of the 1960s began a wave of changes that have sought to undermine Britain's Christian values, and brought on a rise of problems, such as pornography and sexually transmitted diseases.
"To put the Gospel at the heart of a message to the nation on the political good on the common good is what we should do," Williams said while proposing another amendment to protect life, to promote biblical marriage, and to maintain Christian freedoms.
"The Bible sets out how now to live in a world that is lost and is hurting."
