Biden apparently was unable to remember whether he had actually watched his own debate performance.
After Stephanopoulos asked whether he had seen footage of the debate, Biden paused and stared off into the distance before replying, "I don’t think I did, no."

Stephanopoulos explained that he was asking the question in an effort to ascertain if Biden realized how poorly he was performing while the debate was taking place. Biden suggested he realized he was "having a bad night" when Trump was continuing to speak despite having his mic turned off.
"I let it distract me," he said. "I'm not blaming it on that, but I realized that I just wasn't in control."
