Steph Curry endorses Joe Biden
Among the many celebrity speakers at this year’s convention was basketball star Steph Curry, a three-time National Basketball Association champion who is known for his faith in Christ.
Before Biden’s family introduced him Thursday night, a video was played featuring the two-time NBA MVP, his wife, Ayesha, and their two young daughters.
“We want to ensure that our kids live in a nation that is safe, happy, healthy and fair,” Ayesha Curry said.
Her husband followed up by saying that in the 2020 election, “we are voting for Joe Biden.”
The 3-minute video was titled “Keeping the Faith w/ the Currys.” In the video, the parents ask their kids about the election and what qualities they think a president should have.
“Every election is important and this upcoming election is especially important,” Ayesha Curry said. “One because of the social injustices right now, racial inequality but also because we have children.”
In the video, Steph Curry asked his children if they know what the president’s job is. The kids respond by saying that the president’s job is to tell about what is happening in the world and to “keep the environment safe.”
Ayesha Curry asked the kids to describe what characteristics an ideal president would have.
“A very kind personality,” one daughter said. “I would like to see them taking care of the Earth and the people.”
Steph Curry then asked the girls if they know who is running in the election this year. The older daughter responded by naming Joe Biden. However, she is unable to come up with the name of President Donald Trump or any other candidates.
“Exactly,” Ayesha responded.
This is not the first time that Curry has endorsed a Democrat for president. In 2016, Curry backed Democrat Hillary Clinton.
