Vowed to defend Israel's right to defend itself, called for Gaza ceasefire

Addressing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Harris remarked, "now is the time to get a hostage deal and a ceasefire deal done."

"I will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself, and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that a terrorist organization called Hamas caused on Oct. 7," she said, referring to the attack that killed about 1,200 people and led Israel to launch a military offensive to eradicate Hamas in Gaza.

Harris lamented the "unspeakable sexual violence and the massacre of young people" at the Nova music festival as examples of the atrocities that have unfolded in the past year.
