The soon-to-be-launched album will feature the single, "She's Kinda Hot," which the group performed at the Jones Beach show. They also performed "Voodoo Doll," another song from their upcoming album, as well as some of their more popular covers from their YouTube channel.

In tribute to one of the great bands in punk, they also performed Green Day's "American Idiot."

5 Seconds of Summer, who have been seen as One Direction's successors, is composed of Ashton Irwin, 21, Calum Hood, 19, Michael Clifford, 19, and Luke Hemmings, 19.

The New York show comes on the heels of their recent win for Song of Summer at the August 30 MTV Video Music Awards for "She's Kinda Hot," which received upwards of 52 million votes.

The show represented the group's first spotlight moment since it began as a supporting act for One Direction during their February 2013 "Take Me Home" tour.

5 Seconds of Summer will be wrapping up their own tour on September 13 at West Palm Beach, after which they will be taking a break to write new music and prepare for the launch of "Sounds Good Feels Good," the follow up album to their freshman album, 2014's "LiveSOS."
