50 Cent Calls Floyd Mayweather Jr. Beef a Hoax?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson once referred to one another as best friends, yet they have been publicly feuding for months. However, rapper 50 cent revealed that the beef between he and the undefeated pugilist may be nothing more than contrived entertainment.

Jackson spoke negatively about Mayweather and his TMT boxing promotions last week tweeting, "I'm no longer apart or down with TMT promotions. If anyone wants a money team jacket I'm selling mine for a dollar."

While Mayweather refrained from offering a rebuttal to many of Jackson's verbal jabs that have been taking place on social media and in interviews since September, the boxer finally decided to fire back at his former friend recently. The undefeated fighter posted several unflattering pictures of Jackson on Twitter with captions like "A male boxing groupie.. hold my belts because your album sales have declined."

However, Jackson took to Twitter to seemingly end the speculation of beef between the two former friends on Monday morning.

"I'm sick of all this nonsense Floyd asked me to act like we're fighting (because) no one was paying any attention after his 60 days," Jackson tweeted. "I know some (of) the things we do in hip hop for shock value are wrong. He just wanted some attention Floyd is like a brother to me."

Many fans of the rapper reacted to his claims on Twitter where he has over eight million followers.

"You really had everyone all worked up and playing right along," one fan tweeted the rapper.

Jackson replied, "I know right sorry."

Another fan seemed to support the entertainer's decision to allegedly play a hoax on his fans.

"I knew that all along. I knew you were too smart for that," the fan responded to his tweet. "Well played. You gotta do what you gotta do fif."
