50 Shades of Grey Movie Cast: Latest Rumors for Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele Point to Matt Bomer, Alexis Bledel and Henry Cavill, Emilia Clarke (VIDEO)
The 50 Shades of Grey movie cast is still the target of frantic speculation with fans of the hugely popular book desperate to find out who will play the main characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
Various stars have been linked with the role, however, no official confirmation has been given as of yet.
Some of the stars linked with Anastasia Steele have been Alexis Bledel, Emilia Clarke, Amanda Seyfried, Felicity Jones, and Mila Kunis.
Where as some of the top actors linked with the role of Christian Grey have been Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill, Ian Somerhalder, Stephen Amell, and Ryan Gosling.
Various publications have held polls on what fans' favorite pairings would be, and topping some lists have been combinations with Matt Bomer as Grey, and Alexis Bledel as Steele, as well as Henry Cavill as Grey and Emilia Clarke as Steele.
However, fans should not write off Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" being chosen and he has long been a name linked with the part of Grey. Early on he led fan polls to take the lead character in the movie adaptation of EL James' novel.
Henry Cavill has also been more strongly linked with the part of Grey in recent weeks, especially after impressing in the role of superhero Superman, in the recently released Man of Steel.
"There's nothing official," Comerhalder said to "Mr Porter" when asked about the casting of Christian Grey. "But there's a website you can go to where you can make your basement like a dungeon. So, I thought I'd get prepared, just in case [I was cast]!"
Matt Bomer, meanwhile, has been linked for a while with getting the part. The "White Collar" actor, however, has not been as outspoken in public about the role, and for the moment he has remained quiet on whether he would be interested in taking the part if offered.
He did finally open up recently about being linked to the part, saying Bomer simply responded, "No comment. That's my line on that. But it's very flattering that I've got fans who would like to see me in things."
The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie screenwriter, Kelly Marcel, has spoken publicly in an interview a few months back, where he explained that the casting would not take place until a director was installed for the film, and the script was completed. She did, however, admit that there was excitement even at her level in the film's development, and she allegedly said that "some names...have been floating about," according to Wet Paint.
