Alec Baldwin Baby News Confirmed

Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Thomas have announced that they are expecting their first child together.

The couple wed last year after dating for one year. Thomas is 26 years Baldwin's junior.

A yoga instructor, Thomas is also a lifestyle correspondent for "Extra," and the mother-to-be revealed the baby news on the television show Tuesday.

"We're having a baby," exclaimed the 28-year-old. "It was a surprise, a wonderful surprise."

Then Baldwin explained how he learned about the pregnancy chiming in on "Extra."

"There's a scream I heard, which is a scream normally reserved if there's a spider in the house, not exaggerating," said the actor. "It was followed by 'I'm pregnant, I'm pregnant!'"

All jokes aside, Baldwin noted, "It's honestly the most amazing moment. We are really sharing something special."

Thomas is due this summer; much like fellow high profile expecting mothers Kim Kardashian and British royal Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Hollywood is experiencing a baby boom of late with several celebrities expecting children this year. Jessica Simpson, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and Evan Rachel Wood are also pregnant.

Meanwhile, Baldwin will become a father for the second time. The "30 Rock" star has one daughter, 18-year-old Ireland, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Baldwin is not the only veteran actor welcoming a baby later in life. Steve Martin and his wife Anne reportedly welcomed their first child back in December. The 67-year-old "Father of the Bride" star and his 41-year-old wife kept the baby news quiet though.

"They've had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows," a source close to Martin and his wife revealed, according to the New York Post.

"Steve's very private," the insider added. "They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby."
