Amanda Bynes Meltdown? Doctor Believes She is 'Stumbling and Falling'
Psychologists and medical experts are trying to understand what is going on in the head of Amanda Bynes as they feel her meltdown might be the most real and "authentic" moment of her life.
Bynes has been on TV since she was seven years old, acting in programs for Nickelodeon and in commercials. Dr. Keith Ablow believes Bynes inability to live and grow up as a normal child is affecting the way she is thinking now. He suggests that while acting, everything was laid out for her and an "act," while now reality is becoming too much to handle.
"Stage parents often defend selling their kids out to the entertainment industry. They claim it comes from an early recognition of their children's true dreams and their respect for their ambitions," he said in an article for Fox News.
"The decision to force kids to attend auditions, act in commercials, movies and televisions shows is always rooted in the parents' own narcissistic needs and their focus on themselves, to the exclusion of their sons and daughters ... Bynes' parents treated her like a possession, not a person, like a commodity, not a child, and that is psychological poison," he explained.
With that being said, Dr. Ablow believes Bynes' life has become a show for her where she cries out for attention whether it be on Twitter or changing her looks. Although he has not diagnosed her, he said it is safe to say she is in the "stumbling and falling stage."
A number of factors could also attribute to some of her problems. It has been rumored she is heavily using drugs and alcohol and has an eating disorder, although neither have been found to be conclusively true.
Another theory is that she is simply acting out the childhood she missed, except she has too much money and not enough guidance, according to the Huffington Post.
Bynes has been busy slamming other stars on her Twitter as her way of acting out. She has gone after celebrities such as Lance Bass, Rihanna, Ru Paul, and even her own father, calling many of these people "ugly."
She also claims to be working on a singing and rapping career while working on an album. Prior to her "meltdown," Bynes never publicly demonstrated any musical ability or interest.
Bynes has been working on changing her appearance as well. She has gotten a nose job with another planned and has changed her hair several times as well as gotten cheek piercings.
Last week Bynes was arrested and now is planning to take out a large lawsuit against her apartment complex and the NYPD. The actress says she was mistakenly arrested and took to Twitter to vent about her frustrations.
"For once and for all, this is the last thing I'll say about the mistaken arrest. I'm suing NYPD for illegally entering my apartment, lying about drugs on me and lying about me tampering with non existent drug paraphernalia, then I'm suing for being put into a mental hospital against my will, then locked up overnight for coming home after a facial and working out with my trainer like the good girl that I am," she wrote.
Bynes claims she is allergic to drugs and alcohol and is proud of not using either.
