Amanda Knox Taking Self Defense Classes After Receiving Hate Mail

Amanda Knox has been spotted taking self defense-classes and practicing Krav Maga with her sister, sparking questions about how safe she feels back at her home in Seattle.

The 24-year-old, who was acquitted of murder charges with her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito back in October, has been receiving a lot of vile hate mail, according to British newspaper The Sun. The case made news around the world, and many people are still not convinced that she was entirely innocent of involvement in the murder of Meredith Kercher.

Among those that are questioning the Italian court’s decision include Kercher’s family, who has set up a fund trying to get Knox back on trial. Despite these attempts, Knox has distanced herself from the case and tried to move on with her life.

She was spotted partying on Halloween on the eve of the anniversary of Kercher’s murder, which she received a lot of criticism for being “insensitive.” She is reported to be dating a new man, has been seen walking around various places around the city and is planning on going back to university.

An anonymous source told The Sun that she is taking the martial-arts classes in order to protect herself: "She feels safer knowing she can fight back if she has to."

Knox reportedly arrived in a grey T-shirt with the slogan "Family Is Everything," and took part in a class based on Krav Manga. The fighting style originated in Israel but is now well-known throughout the world and is used in the army.

The story might be proof, however, that Knox is still well aware that the public eye is on her, and she is taking extra care. The hate mail may also be a reason why she is feeling at possible risk and wants to be prepared for anything that comes her way.
