Amazon Kindle Fire Just $123 From Some Target, Walmart Locations

After becoming one of the highest selling devices for this year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday, retailers Walmart and Target began selling the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet for just $123.88 yesterday.

For customers familiar with the Kindle fire, this device usually retails around $199.99 plus tax.

However, a user on SlickDeals spotted this sale of the tablet at two major stores including Target and Walmart.

These retail locations are discounting the device by roughly $80.

The discount was spotted yesterday, so it is unclear whether this price is still available on the Kindle Fire tablet.

Technology website 9to5 Google posted a picture of the sale that shows signs advertizing the discounted price on one of this holiday season’s highest selling products.

A receipt image from a customer buying the tablet for $123.33 also made its way to the site.

Amazon saw much success this Black Friday with the Kindle line of products especially with the new Kindle Fire.

“Amazon.com today announced that this Black Friday was the best ever for the Kindle family and the popular Kindle Fire remained the bestselling product across all of Amazon since its introduction 8 weeks ago,” said the company in a press release yesterday.

This Kindle family of products includes the $79 Kindle, $99 Kindle Touch 3G and the $199 Kindle Fire.

However, the Kindle line started to heat up before the holiday shopping season arrived.

“Even before the busy holiday shopping weekend, we’d already sold millions of the new Kindle family and Kindle Fire was the bestselling product across all of Amazon.com,” said Dave Limp, vice president of Amazon Kindle.

Limp also expected to see the trend continue during Cyber Monday.

“In addition, we’re seeing a lot of customers buying multiple Kindles-one for themselves and others as gifts-we expect this trend to continue on Cyber Monday and through the holiday shopping season,” he added.

Amazon has yet to release any Cyber Monday sales reports.
