Amazon's Kindle Fire Takes Top Tablet Spot at Best Buy and Target
According to Best Buy's online store rankings, the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet is now the No. 1 tablet sold.
Best Buy lists the Kindle Fire tablet above Apple's myriad of iPad 2 models. The $199 price point of the Kindle Fire, which is less than half the price of the cheapest iPad model, is said to attract more customers.
This year's recent Black Friday and Cyber Sunday events may have also lead to the tablet's growing sales success.

Dave Limp, vice president of Amazon Kindle, recently spoke about the tablet's success: "Even before the busy holiday shopping weekend, we'd already sold millions of the new Kindle family and Kindle Fire was the bestselling product across all of Amazon.com. Black Friday was the best ever for the Kindle family - customers purchased 4X as many Kindle devices as they did last Black Friday - and last year was a great year."
"In addition, we're seeing a lot of customers buying multiple Kindles - one for themselves and others as gifts,” said Limp.
The Kindle Fire has also picked up some steam at other retailers, such as Target.
"This was a great Black Friday for Target and for Kindle Fire, which was the bestselling tablet in our stores on Black Friday," said Nik Nayar, vice president of merchandising at Target. "We're excited so many guests chose Target as their destination for the new family of Kindle devices and we're sure Kindle Fire will continue to be at the top of wish lists this holiday season."
As for the next Kindle Fire, Canaccord Genuity analyst Bobby Burleson said Nvidia would be the main supply processor for it.

Amazon's next tablet may have an 8.9-inch screen, which may be followed by a 10.1-inch model. The 8.9-inch screen model is also said to release in the "second quarter of 2012."
DigiTimes reported that Foxconn Electronics would build a 7-inch model to replace the current first-generation Fire. The website also said the new model could "start production in the first quarter of 2012."
