'American Horror Story: Cult' Episode 8 Spoilers: Kai Becomes Councilman; Beverly Attempts to Overthrow Kai
In episode 8 of "American Horror Story: Cult," Kai (Evan Peters) has won the city council race and becomes the councilman. Meanwhile, Beverly (Adina Porter) will attempt to overthrow Kai from the cult.
On the next episode of "American Horror Story" season 7, titled "Winter of Our Discontent," Kai has won city elections and has become the councilman.
As seen on the episode 8 promo, Kai is seen sitting among the city council announcing that a certain motion is passed before pounding the gavel. He also tells one of his followers while in a pinky lock, "From now on, call me councilman."
Now that Kai is in a position of real power in the city, Beverly will try to overthrow him.
The city reporter tells Ivy (Alison Pill) and Winter (Billie Lourd), "Let me cut off the head of the snake and the army falls." However, Winter might not completely agree with Beverly's plan because Kai is her brother.
However, Beverly points out that Kai might not be looking out for her the way she's looking out for him.
"You think your big brother's gonna spare you?" Beverly taunts Winter, to which she responds, "Kai would never hurt me." Although, it appears that Winter will find out soon where stands with her brother.
Later on in the promo, Kai says to Winter, "It's time for you to understand your place."
Meanwhile, there are speculations about how Kai's pinky promises to his followers significantly play into the cult.
According to a Reddit post, Kai fulfills the promises he makes during a pinky session but kills the person he made the promise to afterward, which can be applied to Meadow's situation (Leslie Grossman).
Kai takes away Meadow's fear of never being loved and never being important again by making love to her and making her nationally relevant for the shooting incident. Afterwards, Meadow dies under Kai's hands.
"American Horror Story: Cult" airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
