Who is Benjamin Maisani? Facts and Sightings
Anderson Cooper, 45, is reportedly planning to marry his long-term boyfriend Benjamin Maisani, 39, in a wedding that could take place as early as Labor Day. Many are curious to know who Benjamin Maisani is because he has not really surfaced in many media reports until now.
According to reports from Gawker and Who's Dated Who, Anderson Cooper's boyfriend is the co-owner of a gay bar in the East Village called Eastern Bloc.
His full name is Antoine Benjamin Maisani. He was born on January 27, 1973 in Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea, which would make his nationality French.
Maisani studied at Hunter College (the location of Tim Keller's church, Redeemer Presbyterian Church) and graduated valedictorian with 4.0 GPA with a B.A. in Art History.
Maisani is reportedly Roman Catholic.
Cooper reportedly began dating Maisani in early 2009.
For the past few years, the two have been spotted together around New York City though Cooper has never publically talked about the relationship or his sexuality until recently.
Earlier this month, Cooper stated he was gay.
"The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud," Cooper said in an email statement to The Daily Beast.
