Aniston on 'Friends' Reunion Rumors Swirl Again
Jennifer Aniston is making headlines yet again over reports of a possible "Friends" cast reunion set for next year.
The legendary sitcom ran on NBC for 10 seasons until 2004, but fans still want more- rumors of both reunions and a spin-off series have swirled for many years.
As the 20th anniversary of the series premiere approaches, rumors have mounted once more of a reunion between "Friends" co-stars Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
It is believed that Aniston was hesitant to hold a "Friends" reunion, but is now rethinking her attitude toward the idea.
"Since the show ended in 2004 it's been rare for all six of them to appear in public together," said a television insider, according to OK! Magazine. "But with next year's 20th anniversary (of the show's launch) it will be unavoidable for them to do something together. It's the perfect excuse to talk seriously about a new project."
The insider went on to note that Aniston plays a pivotal role in anything having to do with a "Friends" reunion. The 44-year-old actress is disputably the biggest star of the cast, but also the most reluctant.
"It's no secret that the whole project will be pinned on Jennifer, who's incredibly busy with her movie career," the source at OK! added. "But she's been slowly convinced that a reunion could be a good thing."
Nevertheless, back in April, NBC shot down a recent surge in rumors of a possible cast reunion with a statement by "Friends" creator Marta Kauffman.
"I'm going to clear this up- it's not happening," said Kauffman, according to E! News. "'Friends' was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore."
