Ashley Judd Senator Push for the Sake of Funding?

With elections over, new focus has been put on the 2014 cycle. In hopes of finding another high profile race, similar to that between Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown, attention has been drawn to actress and activist Ashley Judd. Hopes are that funding would "pour in" if Judd were to run.

In the recent election, Republican incumbent Sen. Scott Brown put up a high profile fight against incumbent Sen. Scott Brown against Elizabeth Warren for the Massachusetts Senate seat. Warren has made a name for herself after attempting to take on Wall Street.

The race ended up being one of the most expensive in history, over $50 million total, and after Warren's victory some believe another high profile race would be a good thing.

"If you had an Ashley Judd-McConnell race, I think it would be as high profile a race as Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown," said U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) said, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

"The money would pour in here as soon as she entered the race," Yarmuth said.

Judd however, has shown skepticism about joining the race.

"I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I'm very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let's focus on coming together to keep moving America's families, and especially our kids, forward," Judd told US Weekly magazine.

But Judd is not without her fans in the political world, some of whom are still hoping that the star will use her power to get others more politically involved.

"Senator McConnell and his wife are big fans of Ashley Judd's movies and appreciate her energy, particularly when it comes to getting young people engaged in the political process," the Senator's campaign manager, Jesse Benton, told the magazine.
