Ashley Judd Takes Steps Closer to Senate Run
Ashley Judd has reportedly taken steps that have moved her closer to becoming the senator from Kentucky. Judd has yet to formally announce whether she will run against Senator Mitch McConnell in the upcoming election.
According to Politico, Judd met with officials from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Washington this week. The Committee is responsible for campaign strategy and conducts fundraising on behalf of the Democratic candidates during the election.
The Hollywood actress has also created a mailing list so that those who want to know "will be the first to know, well, all sorts of things," she announced. It could be another sign that she is moving closer to a Senate race.

Even though Judd has not announced her decision whether to run or not, McConnell is already hard at work trying to raise funds for the 2014 election. He has also issued a statement against his possible opponent, which garnered much media attention and garnered a public response from Judd.
His latest campaign ad includes Judd, which is unique given the current state of affairs. It appears as though McConnell assumes Judd is already his named opponent. Karl Rove, leader of the American Crossroads super PAC, has issued a warning to Judd.
"This is the opening ad," Rove told Fox News. "She is not going to be able to wait until the screenwriters from California and the producers make her look good … and give her lots of lines to memorize. She is way far out on the left wing of the Democratic Party, which is not very far out left in Kentucky. We want her to explain those radical views she has," Rove added.
"Ashley thanks Senator McConnell, Karl Rove, and their negative allies for all the attention as she considers her future political plans, although a decision hasn't been made yet," her publicist said in a statement to E! News.
"The people of Kentucky need a fighter," Judd told The Courier-Journal. "And certainly going back 10 generations, I've got some fighters from those hills in my family."
