Bald Man Accused of Stealing Rogaine

New York police have named a bald man as the suspect for a theft crime involving Rogaine.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Fifth Precinct Crime Section also suspect that a second man as well as a female assisted in the crime. The authorities are seeking the public's aid in identifying and locating the trio who stole form a CVS pharmacy in Sayville, NY.

The theft took place Saturday, Dec. 17, according to information released by the Suffolk County Police Department. Two men entered the Long Island pharmacy at 8:45 p.m. and were caught on the surveillance cameras placing three bottles of the hair growth enhancement cream into a gift bag.

Video footage also captured a woman running from the store with the store's remaining supply of Rogaine.

By posting the suspects images taken from the surveillance videos on Facebook, police are hopeful that community members will recognize the suspects and come forward.

Priced at $150 a bottle, Rogaine is an expensive over-the-counter medication that uses the chemical minoxidil to spur the re-growth of hair and prevent the loss of hair.

On Twitter, users from around the country are reacting to the unusual crime that took place in New York.

"Today on Long Island. Two bald guys hold up a pharmacy for a case of Rogaine. I can't stop laughing," wrote Twitter user Sueanne.

Kimberly wrote, "This is worth the read just for the title," and included the link reading "Bald suspect wanted for stealing Rogaine from NY pharmacy."

"Less is more?" Wrote Twitter user Charlie before retweeting the post, "@JayDownNYC: what's up with the dude accused of trying to steal Rogaine?"

Police are offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the three individuals who committed the theft. Informants are asked to call 800-220-8477, and all calls will be kept confidential.

If convicted of theft, the suspects could face jail, probation or parole, restitution, court-ordered counseling, and fines.
