Barbara Eden, 'Jeannie,' Dons Genie Costume to Support HIV/AIDS Research (PHOTO)

Barbara Eden, "Jeannie" of 1960s sitcom "I Dream of Jeannie," revisited her role this past weekend at the Life Ball in Vienna, Austria to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS with a fundraiser.

Accompanied by former president Bill Clinton, Eden took to her signature costume as she walked on stage Saturday and didn't seem to miss a beat.

The legendary actress tweeted a photo of herself on stage with the caption, "@Barbara_Eden Here it is folks! The navel that put NBC on edge! Barbara Eden, Sat. night at the Life Ball!"

Her comment about her "navel" is a testament to the network censors in the '60s. In those days, television was not allowed to show her midriff, and had it covered most of the time.

The 78-year-old actress played the role of a 2,000-year-old genie who is found by an astronaut and weds him after they fall in love. The program ran from 1965 until the show ended in 1970. However, it was the next decade of syndication that watched the show's popularity skyrocket, according to The Inquisitr. Two films were later released with the actress starring in both.

The films, "I Dream of Jeannie...Fifteen Years Later," was released in 1985 with the original cast, minus Larry Hagman who played Anthony Nelson, and the second film, "I Still Dream of Jeannie," released in 1991.

Since those roles, she has appeared in five films, three television shows, and a few cameos- most notably in "A Very Brady Sequel."
