Battlefield 4 Second Assault DLC to Launch on Feb. 18
The Battlefield 4 Second Assault DLC will be released on Feb. 18, according to EA DICE.
This new add-on will be available to Battlefield Premium subscribers on PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, according to the official Battlefield Blog. The DLC will roll out for every other subscriber two weeks after.
The Second Assault DLC features maps from Battlefield 3 including Operation Metro, Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman and Operation Firestorm. All of them have been rebuilt from Battlefield 4's Frostbite 3 engine.
Another Battlefield expansion will launch in March called Naval Strike that will launch water-based combat for premium members. This will contain four new maps, new weapons, vehicles and more.
A Battlefield 4 software update is also now available for the Windows PC version of the game.
EA DICE rolled out the update earlier this month that improves CPU/GPU performance and monitoring and also introduce DMR balance tweaks. The patch fixes various bugs and other issues such as the risk of crosshairs disappearing and problems with players exploiting the SOFLAM and MAV.
The damage of DMRs in all ranges will be increased and three-hit kills against unarmored opponents at range will be allowed. The penalty to accuracy for sustained DMR fire has been reduced and the developer will continue to monitor DMRs to make it a "viable mid to long range weapon."
The update will also introduce the delayed Mantle patch which will improve rendering making for better visuals overall.
EA DICE also announced the decision earlier this week to run a special Player Appreciation Month starting on Feb. 1.
The company is running this program to make up for the game's numerous problems that players have had to deal with since its initial launch.
