Bethenny Frankel Reveals Tragic Miscarriage After Conceiving Second Child
Bethenny Frankel has opened up about her heartbreaking miscarriage which she suffered after conceiving husband Jason Hoppy's second child.
"We were pregnant with a second baby and at eight weeks, I miscarried. That was a very emotional experience," Frankel revealed on The Today Show.
"Thinking about women who can't even have their first baby ... I'm really lucky. Until you become a woman, you don't know the things that come with it. The window is closing, and it's something I'm dealing with," she said.
"I have thought about other women more than myself ... I can't believe what people go through if they can't even have the one. You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it -- you go through a million different things," she added.
The 41-year-old "Bethenny Ever After" star, who recently spoke candidly about the difficulties of her marriage to Hoppy, explained that because she miscarried so recently it was not included in her reality TV program this season.
"It wasn't recorded on the show. It was very recent. You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it. About your age, about being a woman, about can you have another baby, are you a failure to your partner, what if my husband married someone younger. You go through a million different things," Frankel said.
In upcoming episodes of her reality show, Frankel and her husband of over one year publicize the strains of their marriage but also demonstrate their dedication to working through their problems.
"Are there strains in my marriage? Absolutely. Do we have issues? Absolutely. Do we love each other and am I committed to my marriage and make it work? I have strains in every part of my life. I try to be the best person I can and the best wife I can," Frankel said on Monday.
The couple share one daughter, Bryn Hoppy, who is almost 2 years old and makes regular appearances on Frankel's reality show.
After suffering a tragic miscarriage, Frankel said that she is "not really thinking" about trying again.
"I have an incredible daughter. My daughter is 21 months - she's still very young so I'm still enjoying her being a baby and I love that," she said.
