Beyonce and Jay-Z New Vegan Diet? Trainer Opens Up About Singer's Plant-Based Lifestyle

Beyonce's trainer is opening up about the 32-year-old singer's transition into the vegan lifestyle.

Marco Borges, the CEO of 22 Days Nutrition, also serves as Beyonce's personal trainer. He recently opened up to E! News about the singer's decision to live a lifestyle that is mostly plant-based.

"She is all about health and wellness. She just wants to feel good," Borges told E! News recently. "The transition [from vegan] was fairly easy, because [now] she's sticking to a mostly plant-based diet with some fish here and there."

During her first vegan diet, Beyonce reportedly enjoyed meals of vegan mac 'n' cheese, portobello mushrooms, nachos and salad, vegan cupcakes and cookies, E! News reports. Jay Z first took to his Life + Times website just before his 44th birthday on Dec 4 to let fans know about his decision to go on a spiritual cleanse with his wife and singer Beyonce in the form of a 22 day vegan challenge.

Jay Z questioned what the couple would do after their vegan challenge, which ended on Christmas.

"You can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse," he wrote on his website. "..I don't know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We'll see…"

Borges told E! that Beyonce's go-to vegan snack are "the 22Days Nutrition bars. Her favorite flavors are Peanut Chocolate-Chip Nirvana, Cherry Chocolate Bliss and Pineapple Chocolate-Chip Wonder."

While it is unclear whether the rap mogul will join his wife if she is indeed embarking on another 22 day vegan challenge, PETA has praised both entertainers for their efforts.

"PETA praises Jay Z and Beyoncé for getting animals off their plates for 22 days and hopes that this great spiritual exercise will open their eyes to the suffering of all animals-including the wonderful ones who are killed not for the table but for a coat, a belt, or a bag," a PETA representative said last year, according to Yahoo! omg! reports.
