Beyonce Baby Bump Watch: Baby to Arrive in February, Says Pop Diva
Pop diva Beyonce has announced that she and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z are expecting to have their baby in February, and she thanks God for the blessing.
The 30-year-old singer made the announcement during an interview on an Australian talk show Sunday. The baby "already has changed my life," she said in the video interview. "My husband and I have been together for 10 years – all of my 20s – and I just feel like it's time and I'm very grateful that God has blessed me with the biggest gift any human being can have."
The "Beyonce Baby Bump Watch," as it has become known since she revealed a slight bump on her tummy as part of her pregnancy announcement on the MTV Video Music Awards in August, is getting bigger as the big day approaches, but the baby could not be coming at a more perfect time.
"I think because I've accomplished a lot of things for myself and I really know who I am, I didn't rush into anything. If it's any time, right now is the time, and I'm so happy," Beyonce said.
Reflecting on the pressures of success and the amount of that work goes into being one of the world's biggest names in music, Beyonce said that she is glad to be able to take a breather – even if it is while being pregnant.
"It became a bit overwhelming. I was a bit numb, and kind of lost. It didn't matter where I was, I was in so many different places that it was just like, 'I was just on the show. I was performing. I'm back at a hotel. Where am I? What city am I in? Okay. I'm doing the same thing,' " she said during the interview.
The pop diva added, "It became just a ritual. It was a bit of emotion in me that was missing, because the world is so much bigger than people screaming your name. That becomes almost like a fake world and you have to make sure that you remember that. That's all great, but that's not who you really are."
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the singer credited her strong marriage to Jay-Z for making her a better, stronger person.
"We have been together since I was 20 years old. We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married," she says. "But, like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice. It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want."
She added: "The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your fears and insecurities. There's someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you."
