Beyonce New Haircut 2013: Singer Changes Hair After Criticism
Beyonce Knowles-Carter may have boldly debuted her new haircut recently, but the singer quickly changed it after being met with criticism.
Beyonce recently shocked many fans with a new blonde pixie haircut that her stylist thought would be empowering for the singer, but now the entertainer may be having second thoughts about it. She was recently spotted on a lunch date with her husband and rapper Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and daughter Blue Ivy at Silvano restaurant in Miami, Fla.
This time, more length and color was added to her hair which included a deep brown tone in the back which was shaped into an asymmetrical bob. The new look comes after the singer became the topic of conversation on Twitter, where multiple memes were created.
"Beyonce got that 'home alone' haircut, that 'Timmy Turner' haircut," one person tweeted. "Her hair was cut by a sword."
After more users compared Beyonce's haircut to comedian Ellen DeGeneres and news anchor Anderson Cooper, she emerged with a longer length and more depth in her color one week later.
While the 31-year-old singer is scheduled to perform at the upcoming V Festival in the U.K., she may be securing some other hair options in the form of wigs.
"She's asked her team to pack a suitcase full of 40 different wigs and hairpieces in case she bottles it at the last minute," sources reportedly told The Daily Star."Bey's still adjusting to her new look and is worried she won't feel herself on stage."
Rita Hazan, a hair stylist who has worked with Beyonce for a year, recently spoke up about transforming the singer's locs. Neal Farinah, a Brooklyn based stylist, cut Beyonce's hair while Hazan colored her hair, according to USA Today reports.
Hazan revealed the reason for Beyonce's transformation from a long mane to a short champagne cropped cut.
"Her hair was long and went down her back," Hazan said in a USA Today report. "She'd been thinking about it for a while and she wanted to go for it and cut it. It was a moment that she had."
Last week Hazan spoke up the singer wanting to empower herself by cutting her hair.
"I was shocked. I think she was just feeling empowered, like a strong woman, and she said she's been feeling it for a long time," Hazan revealed in an Us Weekly report. "She didn't want to hide behind her hair in real life."
The hair stylist went on to explain how Beyonce's new haircut could shape the way that women perceive their own hair.
"I'm so happy because the extensions give women the wrong expectation of what their hair should look like - it's great for onstage, but everyday women shouldn't have or want to have five pounds of hair on their head," Hazan said in the Us Weekly report. "This hair is more natural, more realistic."
