Beyonce Reveals Why New Album Is Not for Children's Ears
Beyonce, the 32-year-old singer, is opening up about why she decided to reveal a side of herself that is not suitable for children on her self-titled fifth album release.
"Now I'm in my 30s, and those children that grew up listening to me have grown up, and I always felt like it was my responsibility to be aware of kids and their parents and all these generations," Beyonce says in her "Self-Titled Part 5. Honesty," documentary obtained by E! News. "I felt stifled and I felt like, in a sense, I could not express everything. I've done so many things in my life, in my career, that I feel like at this point I've earned the right to be me and to express any and every side of myself."
The chart topping singer recently released a visual album with 17 videos and 14 songs, but she revealed that she recorded 80 songs for the project. After releasing some of her most vulnerable material yet, she revealed that she would never have been brave enough to release such a personal project in the past.

"I don't think I would've done it, you know, back then. I don't think I would've been confident enough," Beyonce said in her fifth informational video about the album. "I would've been too afraid of what other people thought, but I kinda dropped that fourth wall and I did it."
She spoke about the videos and songs for her latest album giving fans a glimpse of her personal life.
"I feel like I'm having to tap into a lot of my life experiences to pull inspiration and I feel like I'm opening up a lot in these videos and showing a lot of sides to me that only a few people have ever seen," Beyonce said in the video.
She previously admitted that she was nervous to release her album without any previous promotion or advertising.
"I was terrified. I was so scared. I already envisioned like the worst things that could happen," Beyonce said at the School of Visual Arts in New York screening for her new music videos. "I was really nervous because this was a huge risk."
