Beyonce Teams Up With Goodwill To Create Jobs

Beyonce Knowles is doing her part to help create jobs in the country while on her Mrs. Carter world tour.

Knowles, the 32-year-old entertainer, is teaming up with Goodwill and asking her concert goers at her North American tour to bring clothing donations to her show in an initiative called #BeyGood. During 14 tour stops, people's donations will be sold in the communities where they are collected with proceeds benefiting employment opportunities created by Goodwill for disadvantaged people.

"The people who come through our doors are a diverse group, from single mothers and recent immigrants to people with criminal backgrounds and adults who never finished high school. But everyone is looking for the same thing: a better life," said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International in a press release. "We're proud that Beyonce is using her platform to share the positive impact Goodwill has on local communities, the environment and the lives of the millions of people Goodwill assists each year. We are incredibly grateful for Beyonce's support of Goodwill's mission."

Beyonce is providing even more incentive for her fans to donate their items by rewarding the first 100 concert goers to give at each stop with chances to upgrade their seats to her coveted V.I.P. section.

"I am excited to team up once again with Goodwill in supporting their efforts in finding and creating jobs for families in need," Beyonce said in the Goodwill press release.

Knowles is no stranger to donating her time for a good cause. Last February, she launched The Chime for Change organization along with actress and Salma Hayek and the Creative Director at Gucci, Frida Giannini as an initiative to help empower women.

Knowles spoke to Vogue about her desire to help women with initiatives like Chime for Change.

"I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women ... It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world," she told Vogue earlier this year.
