Beyonce’s Wedding Dress was Designed by Mother Tina Knowles

In an interview with Us Weekly, Beyonce's stylist Ty Hunter told reporters that the singer and soon-to-be mom wore a wedding dress in April 4, 2008 that was designed by Tina Knowles.

The 30 year-old singer often wears clothes designed by her mother – several of which she sports while performing at concerts.

In her latest DVD, “Live at Roseland: The Elements of 4,” Beyonce revealed the dress that she wore on the day of her nuptials to Jay-Z. The strapless white gown is shown briefly in the video "I Was Here”.

A fashion designer in her own right, Tina also designs and plays a major role in Beyonce’s clothing line, “House of Dereon,” that was announced in September 2004. The clothing line is named after Beyonce’s grandmother and Tina’s mother.

Tina has designed Beyonce’s clothes since she was a young member of Destiny Child. During the early days of her daughter's career, when money was limited, she created outfits that the band's members wore on-stage and to events.

In addition, Tina also had a hand in Beyonce’s make-up and hairstyles.

Beyonce often mentions how influential her mother is in her career, so it may come as no surprise she had a hand in designing the diva’s wedding dress.

“The 30 year-old singer always relies on her mother when it comes to fashion and beauty and she has never failed to impress anyone with her dazzling outfits and hairstyles,” said Maria Lauritsen of website Newsinabox.

Additionally, Tina has a new line that premiered on the Home Shopping Network called “Miss Tina” by Tina Knowles.

Beyonce is not the first celebrity to use her parents with their wedding dress.

According to Us Weekly: “Dylan Lauren (of Dylan's Candy Bar fame) wore a beautiful wedding dress by dad, Ralph Lauren, when she tied the knot in June.”
