Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' Romantic Honeymoon in Virginia
After exchanging their vows in a top-secret ceremony, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds enjoyed their honeymoon together in a small Virginian town over the weekend.
The newlyweds visited Little Washington in Rappahannock Country, Virginia six days after saying "I do" in South Carolina on Sept. 9. Lively and Reynolds stayed at the Inn of Little Washington where they also dined at The Inn.
"The Inn's dining rooms are pure fantasy," the website for the restaurant explained. "A wondrous cocoon of luxury. Rose-colored, silk lampshades float above each table creating a private, romantic world below."
It comes as a surprise that the celebrities selected the historical town to celebrate their nuptials. According to many locals in Little Washington, the stars chose the location in order to avoid cameras.
"We've had many famous people come here," Joanie Ballard, the owner of R.H. Ballard Art, Rug & Home in Little Washington, told Celebuzz. "They'll usually stay at the inn because it's extremely beautiful and private."
Lively was spotted in dark skinny jeans, a cream blouse, and gold sandals on Saturday along with a casually clad Reynolds, according to The Washington Post. Others in the country inn recognized the couple and left them alone, but paparazzi were waiting for the newlyweds outside by Sunday.
After the weekend getaway, it was back to work for Lively, who was spotted on the set of "Gossip Girl" in New York City on Monday, according to People magazine.
Very little is known about the details of the Lively-Reynolds wedding ceremony earlier this month, but an insider said the bride "looked very natural" on the big day, according to People magazine.
"Her hair was mostly down, but some of it was swept up," said an onlooker according to People. "She didn't wear a veil. She wore natural makeup; her skin was flawless. It was a clean look, very fresh."
Also, Lively selected a custom Marchesa ball gown for her wedding that featured embroidered silk tulle.
"Her dress was simple yet beautiful, slightly off-white, no big bows, no train," the insider added.
Continuing the "natural" look, the 25-year-old actress also opted for little jewelry.
"She didn't wear anything gaudy; no big jewelry," People reported. "She had small earrings, and I believe a very delicate necklace, but nothing really prominent."
The ceremony took place at the historic Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston, according to E! News.
