Boko Haram Announces Terrorism Targets in Nigeria
Boko Haram, the Nigeria-based terror sect responsible for killing hundreds this year, issued a list of new targets on Friday, which mainly includes government buildings.
The list’s release comes on the same day President Goodluck Johnathan told a committee in France that Boko Haram would soon be stomped out by government officials.
The terror sect says it will target buildings regardless of their affiliation with former Senator Ali Ndume, who was arrested earlier this week for allegedly supplying the terror sect with funds and information.

Johnathan called the connection between Ndume and Boko Haram, “unfortunate.”
A spokesman for Boko Haram, who calls himself Qaqa, said the group was “ever ready to fight the battle to a finish,” and that the only entity to which the group issues directives is Allah.
“Please I want you the media to tell Nigerians, particularly those who are tenants in the houses of politicians with political flags, posters, to vacate such houses or remove such inscriptions irrespective of whichever political party, as when we strike all those places would be part of our targets,” Qaqa warned in a statement.
“All these places mentioned would not be spared. I am giving this strong warning for people to desist from any political patronage, and their buildings because, we don’t want to kill innocent souls when we strike, and Inshallahu, we are going to do it very soon and succeed,” he continued.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Embassy warned its citizens in Nigeria that Boko Haram was targeting the capitol city of Abuja. Johnathan belittled the warning. Four police officers and a 9-year-old were killed in two separate bombings last Friday in Abuja.
Citizens of Nigeria are growing increasingly concerned that Johnathan is not doing enough to stomp out the terror sect.
To date, Johnathan has sent three troops of soldiers to Yobe state, where attacks last week killed more than 150 people, including 120 Christians. A 24-hour curfew was issued, but was lifted after only eight hours. Two people were killed shortly thereafter. A police motorcade was bombed in the region on Tuesday.
Johnathan has asked for Christians to pray for Nigeria.
Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country and considerably richer than countries in the region due to its expansive oil reserves. Its central government, however, is weak.
Boko Haram’s violence began last year. The terror sect has bombed a U.N. building, killed more than 500 people and conducted suicide bombings and assassinations.
The group, whose name translates to “western religion is sacrilege,” is fighting to implement Shariah – Islamic law – throughout Nigeria. The group has targeted Christians in the mostly-Muslim northern region of the country, as well as Muslims and government officials who disagree with the group’s fundamentalism.
