Brad Pitt's Son Maddox Gets Shot in 'World War Z' Movie
Brad Pitt's son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, makes a cameo in "World War Z," the zombie movie his father stars in, and is killed off in a very violent fashion.
"He gets shot in the head ... multiple times. But he gets double tapped," Pitt said of his son to Us Magazine. "I don't know what that says about me as a parent."
Maddox, 11, and Pax, 9, along with their mom "have already seen it and they love it," Pitt said.
The movie, directed by Marc Forster, also stars youngster Fabrizio Zacharee Guido.
"[We] became really good friends," Guido said referring to Maddox. "They're so much fun. They're just normal kids. We rode bikes and played video games."
"He has really great dumb dad jokes that he would bring in for the kids," Mireille Enos said of Pitt. "Like the best, really stupid jokes for the kids that were working."
The movie premiere was last night in New York City, and the red carpet was shaped in a Z.
"We're not doing this small ... we're going big this summer," Pitt told the Huffington Post.
"World War Z" was written by Max Brooks, the son of legendary comic actor and director Mel Brooks.
"We liked this idea of taking a genre and using that as, I guess, a metaphor for pandemics, and what if one of these pandemics jumped the tracks. Would we be ready? What countries would be in better shape, what countries would take the biggest hit," Pitt said of the movie.
In other news, Pitt was informed of comments made about his wife, Angelina Jolie, and her decision to have a double mastectomy.
"I have to say I feel a little differently. I have that gene mutation too, and it's not something I would believe in for myself," Etheridge, who like Jolie, tested positive for the BRCA 1 gene, told The Washington Blade. "I wouldn't call it the brave choice. I actually think it's the most fearful choice you can make when confronting anything with cancer."
Pitt was unaware of the comments and did not appear to be upset about the statement.
"Melissa's an old friend of mine. I'm sure we'll talk on the phone. I don't know what it is," he explained.
