Brandon Weeden Tweets Photo, Terrifies Pug With His Patriotism (PHOTO)

While football may be considered an "all American sport" most NFL players wouldn't go as far as Cleveland Brown's quarterback Brandon Weeden did to show his patriotism on the Fourth of July.

Weeden is apparently very passionate about the Fourth of July. To share his American spirit with others, the NFL Quarterback posted a photo of himself wearing undeniably patriotic gear. In the photo, Weeden can be seen holding an American flag with a flag tank top and flag shorts.

"It'd only be right to post this on this great American holiday!! Happy 4th of July to everyone!!" the quarterback wrote on Twitter.

But Weeden isn't in the photo alone. Sitting on his lap is Weeden's pug and the dog looks a little surprised about his owner's attire. The edge of the player's wife, Melanie Weeden, can also be seen in what appears to be similar patriotic gear. Melanie however, was less enthusiastic about sharing her patriotism with the world.

"I asked to be cropped out!" she admitted on Twitter.

Weeden's fans were supportive of his new get up at least. The quarterback gathered over 745 retweets and 329 "favorites."

Weeden, 29, is a rookie to the sport of football. His first NFL draft occurred in 2012, during which time the Cleveland Browns picked him up. Prior to earning a starting position in the NFL, Weeden played major league baseball. The New York Yankees drafted him in 2002 and he played for a year before moving to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He retired from MLB in 2006 due to injury and began as a college student at Oklahoma State University. During his 2011 senior year he led Oklahoma State to an 11-1 regular season, a number 3 ranking in the BCS standings, and a berth in the 2012 BCS Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
