Bungie Celebrates 'Halo 3's' 10th Anniversary, Launches Throwback Playlist on 'Halo 5'

It's been 10 years since "Halo 3" was launched, and Bungie made sure that the game's legacy will not be forgotten, at least by the new generation of players.

In a post on the game's official blog site, the game developer announced a new playlist for "Halo 5" with a throwback to the older game. "To celebrate and commemorate the occasion we've got a brand new playlist for Halo 5, a special 343 live stream, Halo 3 on Xbox One back-compat, and a trip down memory lane with members of the team and our community," wrote Bungie.

"Grab yourself a Mt. Dew Game Fuel and get comfortable, it's time for full glassing beam of nostalgia," the post added.

The commemorative playlist for "Halo 5: Guardians" runs for a limited time and features different maps from "Halo 3" using "Halo 5's" Forge tools. These include Guardian, Citadel, Isolation, Boundless, High Ground, (Snowbound), Ghost Town, and The Pit. When it comes to the loadouts, players will get to use the Halo 5 BR complete with the Classic Scope as their main weapon.

They will also be armed with an Assault Rifle as their secondary weapon.

One of the most interesting elements of the playlist is perhaps the player settings. 343 Industries decided to tweak some key elements to come out with a classic gameplay style. Some of the changes include an increase of 25m on the Motion Tracker range, disabled Spartan Abilities, increased gravity as well as player speed, among others.

The celebration started last week when 343 made four "Halo" titles for the Xbox 360 compatible with the Xbox One. According to Twinfinite, the four titles are "Halo 3," "Halo 3: ODST," "Halo 4," and "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary."

Last month, Microsoft announced the release date for "Halo Wars 2's" expansion titled "Awakening the Nightmare." The big reveal was made during the Gamescom 2017, setting the release date on Sept. 26, said a Gamespot report.
