Call of Duty Preorder Bonuses Include Modern Warefare 2 Skin and Exclusive Multiplayer Level
Call of Duty: Ghosts will be partnering with GameStop for special pre-order bonuses for gamers who reserve the game.
Activision created the bonus in homage of Simon "Ghost" Riley, the main character in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Gamers will get a special multiplayer skin that enables them to be the character of Ghost.
According to Gamerant, original rumors were that this CoD was supposed to be based off of Ghost because of his popularity. Instead they added an "S" to Ghost and made it about multiple people. However, they did name the dog in the game Riley, Ghost's actual name.
The bonus for pre-order purchases is an exclusive map called Freefall. The level is very unique as it takes place on an eroding skyscraper, making the background and surroundings change constantly.
Call of Duty: Ghosts could face delays overseas as the Royal Mail is set to go on strike one day before the game's release on Nov. 5.
The strike will last for 24 hours and was voted 4-to-1 in favor of happening, according to thesixthaxis.com. This means the game may not be delivered to retailers in time to launch the game.
The strike can be called off if the two parties work out an agreement, but that seems unlikely as negotiations have been ongoing.
Recently a new trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts was released showcasing the game's Clans and Clan Wars battles in addition to signaling the opening for clan registration.
The multiplayer signature FPS experience of Clan fighting will get a bit of revamping as Activision introduces Clan Wars across multiple platforms.
"Check out how Clans is an integral part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts' multiplayer experience. This year introduces new breakthroughs, including the Call of Duty Clan Wars game experience, and cross-platform Clans - where players can now join a Clan with friends regardless of whether they play on Xbox, PlayStation or Windows PC, and level-up their Clan to earn exclusive unlocks and multiplayer XP bonuses," the YouTube video of the trailer said.
Gamers have until Oct. 25 to set up their online clans and reserve a name, reported WebProNews.
Existing CoD clan members from the prior games can transfer all of their stats over, while new members just have to sign up. The service is free.
Gamers can switch clans or start their own once joining a pre-existing one.
"From the get-go, we didn't want clans to feel distant from multiplayer, so we decided to integrate it into the game itself," Infinity Ward's Senior Community Manager, Tina Palacios, told One of Swords. "If you wanted to start a clan from in-game in Ghosts, you can do that. You can manage your clan from in-game, you can look at other clan profiles and your own clan's profile through the game itself."
The game is set to be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC Nov. 5, and for the PS4 on Nov. 15 and the Xbox One Nov. 22.
