Chris Brown Reveals Blue Hair, Not Attending VMAs (PHOTO)
Chris Brown recently debuted a new hairstyle via social networking site Instagram and his decision to remove the photo soon after posting it has led to speculation that he may have encountered backlash.
The 23-year-old showed off a blonde colored base with what appears to be a thick strip of blue covering his mini-mohawk, and fans flocked to Twitter, where they weighed in on Brown's new look.
"Chris Brown is really taking this 'youth' thing seriously. Blue hair? I don't understand," Annie Hall tweeted.
"I love Chris Brown's hair!! Looks unique and funky. I like how comfortable he is experimenting with fashion!" Mimi tweeted
"Chris Brown needs to chill out with all these different hair colors . I like blue , but not enough to dye my hair that color," Lisa Fayeee tweeted.
A number of fans went on to question whether reports of a scheduled appearance at the 2012 Video Music Awards are accurate.
Rumors of a confrontation with his rival Drake and a performance with Rihanna began swirling in recent weeks, but his representative denied that the singer is attending the Sept. 6 awards show.
"[Chris Brown] will not be at VMAs in any capacity," Brown's rep reportedly told Gossip Cop.com.
Brown has stayed quiet since Rihanna, who is his ex-girlfriend, opened up about their relationship in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Rihanna revealed that despite his current relationship with Karrueche Tran, she and Brown still love one another and spend time together.
"I still love him. We're very, very close friends. We built a trust again and that's it. We love each other and we probably always will," Rihanna told Winfrey on "Oprah's Next Chapter."
Although Brown has not spoken out about Rihanna's interview, his mother, Joyce Hawkins, posted a series of cryptic tweets about telling the truth shortly after it aired. This has prompted speculation that Rihanna was being dishonest about the full status of their relationship in her interview.
"TELL THE TRUTH AND SET YOURSELF FREE," one Hawkins' tweet said.
