Chris Tomlin Makes Radio History Again With New Single

Sixsteprecords singer/songwriter Chris Tomlin made chart history once again this week, garnering an unprecedented three singles in the Top 30 of the R & R Christian AC monitored chart. Tomlin’s newest single “The Way I Was Made” debuted this week at No. 27, while his past No. 1 hits, “Holy Is The Lord” and “Indescribable” captured the No. 4 and No. 14 positions respectively.

“It’s an unprecedented feat, it’s never been done,” says Grant Hubbard, EMI CMG Label Group vice president, national promotion. “This is the next chapter in the Chris Tomlin success story.”

Tomlin previously set records on the R & R Christian AC with “Holy Is The Lord” and “Indescribable” being the first two singles to land simultaneously in the Top 10. The songs have now held onto their top 15 positions for 19 weeks, with “Indescribable” having remained in the Top 30 for a remarkable 48 weeks after releasing to radio one year ago (July 16, 2004) and hitting No. 1 on Oct. 10, 2004.

“The Way I Was Made,” “Holy Is The Lord,” and “Indescribable” can all be found on Tomlin’s critically acclaimed release Arriving which earned Tomlin his first GMA Music Award for Praise & Worship Album of the Year and was also voted best album last week in the 2005 Christian Retailing Retailerss Choice Awards Music category.

Tomlin can be seen performing songs from Arriving at a number of prominent events this fall, including Spirit West Coast, and Rock The Universe.
