Christina Aguilera Afro on Voice Performance: 'Looks a Mess' (VIDEO)
Christina Aguilera was ridiculed for her styling choices yet again after she revealed a platinum blonde afro while singing on "The Voice."
Last week the pop star and "Voice" judge was questioned when she modeled a thick pink braid attached to the side of her head while making a television appearance on "Extra" with her fellow co-stars. Her latest hair-do was unveiled when the singer performed on stage for "The Voice." The new look included a princess crown piled on top of a large, pink, Afro-like do.
For an outfit, Aguilera wore silver leotard with a draping skirt surrounding it that was cut short in the front to reveal tall, thigh-high boots. The boots appeared to be made out of white satin and embellished with silver sequins. She paired the outfit with bright pink lipstick, purple eye shadow, and thick fake eyelashes.
Cee-Lo also sang on stage with Aguilera wearing what appeared to be either white satin or silk that had an Oriental feel. The duo sang "Make the World Move" from Aguilera's newly-released album Lotus.
"It's quite sad that a singer of Christina's capabilities has to resort to Nicki Minaj style productions. She has an AMAZING voice and it's quite a shame that no one seems to tell her styling is terrible," one user wrote on the Daily Mail blog.
Aguilera has fluctuated in weight over the past few years, which has brought on additional criticism at times, particularly because she had been critical of other stars' weight in the past. However, some argue that its her clothes, not her weight, that is the issue.
"Christina looks a mess here," a second user opined. "It's not necessarily her size but the clothes she chooses to put on her more ample body. She can't wear those clothes she used to wear back in her dirty days."
"No doubt she can sing," another user added offering a similar opinion. "Problem with her look is that she is trying to wear outfits she wore when she was in her early 20's and when she was slim. She should ditch the silly hair color, not put so much make up and wear things that flatter her now fuller figure."
