Christina Milian 'Shocked' Over 'DWTS' Elimination

Christina Milian and her professional dance partner Mark Ballas were voted off of "DWTS" season 17 on Monday night, shocking fans everywhere.

As a popular R&B singer who maintained solid scores this season, Milian's elimination came as a surprise to viewers.

Despite earning 28 points from the judges for their cha cha, Milian and Ballas failed to move onto the next level of the competition and were sent home.

"I was shocked, for sure," said 32-year-old Milian following the show to Us Weekly. "I'm not saying it should have been anyone else, but, to be honest with you, after having a great performance you feel a lot more confident, but in the back of your mind you know a lot of this is determined by votes."

However, Milian's elimination is less surprising considering last week's harsh critique from Julianne Hough who served as a guest judge.

"There were moments where I felt like choreography-wise, I felt like it was two people dancing side-by-side rather than together," Hough stated on the Oct. 7 show.

"So I really want to see [Millian] shine," she continued. "I've danced with Mark. You have to stand in front to make sure you're seen."

Milian admitted that her elimination may have been the result of Hough's criticism.

"A lot of it has to do with [votes] and we knew last week wasn't the best week based on everything with Julianne [Hough] and all that stuff happened," said the singer. "So we weren't sure what the outcome would be. I guess it just didn't work out!"

Hough's criticism may have cost Milian the Mirrorball trophy, but her comments definitely offended her childhood friend Ballas.

"The dancers were all talking about it," an insider told Us magazine. "Mark was so pissed after his routine, he was in silence, just gritting his teeth for a long time. He was so angry. Julianne is like his little sister he grew up with, and for her to make that dig at him … He felt like that was just so uncalled for."

My Most Momorable Year episode of "DWTS" last night saw high-scoring performances by Corbin Bleu, Jack Osbourne, SNooki, and Brant Daugherty.

"DWTS" airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
