Clay Aiken Disses Rihanna, Admits to Plastic Surgery
Country music star Clay Aiken has called pop star Rihanna "pitchy" and admitted to plastic surgery during an interview with Bravo TV's Andy Cohen. The singer has said that his comments will get him in trouble with fans.
Aiken appeared on the newest episode of Bravo's "Watch What Happens," a late-night talk show hosted by Andy Cohen. When asked which current pop singer wouldn't survive on "American Idol," Aiken replied that he had "stopped listening" to pop stars "because they can't sing."
"Rihanna has some pitch problems, for sure. Now I'm gonna get in trouble, too," he added. It seems, however, that the media is more interested in creating a "feud" between Aiken and Rihanna than fans of both celebrities are.
"I didn't think I would ever say this, but I agree with Clay Aiken," tweeted Blarebare.
Aiken then went on to discuss his changed appearance, addressing rumors that he had had plastic surgery on his face.
"I had surgery on my jaw for a TMJ thing, and I had them suck the fat out of my child while they were in there," he explained. "I was like, 'You know what, while I'm already down, go ahead and take the vacuum in there and suck the fat out of my chin'."
TMJ, or Temporomandibular joint disorder, is a condition in which the jaw continually locks and clicks, causing severe pain. Yet Aiken's admission of plastic surgery in addition to the corrective procedure is sure to spark discussion.
Aiken competed on the previous season of "Celebrity Apprentice" and told TheaterMania it was "grueling, exhausting, and tiring. In fact, it was five times worse than Idol when it comes to mental stress and worry."
His new CD, "Steadfast" was just released by Decca Records; it is his first since 2010 and features the new single "Bring Back My Love."
