Coolio Arrested, Taken to Same Prison as Son
Rapper Coolio has been arrested and jailed, and has ironically been put in the same prison as his son, who is currently incarcerated in Las Vegas.
Police pulled the rapper over during a routine traffic stop in Las Vegas on Friday morning. However, upon further inspection they found two active bench warrants out for his arrest, and took him into custody.
The Gangsta's Paradise star was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and he has now been put on $5,850 bail.
It was latest confirmed that his eldest son has been imprisoned at the same facility since autumn 2011 after he was arrested for robbing a man at gunpoint.
Son, Grtis Ivey, and a female friend, Shantrice Wilkerson, are alleged to have broken into an apartment and forced the tenant into a bathroom on October 29, 2011. The two then allegedly proceeded to ransack the residence looking for valuables.
The pair reportedly stole two laptops, two iPads, and a safe. Ivey and his friend were later identified by the victim and taken into custody by cops on November 14.
Coolio's son has since been detained on various charges, including grand larceny, robbery with a deadly weapon and first degree kidnapping. He is due to face a judge on Monday, according to TMZ.
