CP World Report: Rick Santorum, Intelligent Design, Afghanistan, Da Vinci Painting
Rick Santorum scored big wins last night in the Republican primaries winning Mississippi and Alabama. Santorum has now established himself as the main conservative rival to front runner Mitt Romney. But Romney did not go home empty handed. He took the victory in the Hawaii caucuses and American Samoa, just South of Hawaii.
President Obama condemned the shooting of 16 civilians in Afghanistan, allegedly by the hands of a U.S soldier. He made the comments during a statement to reporters at the White House. Obama said the U-S takes the situation as seriously as if it were American citizens who were killed. Now he wants the Pentagon to do a full investigation.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has said the Army soldier could face the death penalty if convicted.

Former U.S. vice-president Dick Cheney has cancelled a Toronto speaking engagement because Canada he says is too dangerous. While Cheney was speaking at a private club in Vancouver in September, violent protests broke out and Vancouver police in riot gear had to disperse the demonstrators . This left Cheney holed up in the building for seven hours.
NASA's latest mission is defending itself in a workplace lawsuit filed by former computer specialist David Copp edge. He claims he was demoted and then fired for promoting his views on intelligent design. Copp edge worked as a "team lead" on a mission exploring Saturn and its many moons. He says he was discriminated against because he engaged his co-workers in conversations about intelligent design and handed out DVDs about it while at work. The Alliance Defense Fund, and the Discovery Institute, a proponent of intelligent design, are both supporting Copp edge's case. Researchers in Italy believe they've discovered a Leonardo da Vinci mural, thought lost for nearly 500 years. It's called "The Battle of Anghiari". Da Vinci painted it in Florence's government palace in 1503, but it disappeared during a restoration project 50 years later.
A team of art experts say it has been hidden behind a wall, featuring a mural painted by another artist, much later. And they say samples of paint they've recovered by drilling through the wall match paint Da Vinci used to paint the Mona Lisa!
In an age of high divorce rates, this Wisconsin couple is celebrating more than seven decades of marriage. Joseph and Rosemary Grout were recognized by the Worldwide Marriage Encounter, as the longest married couple in the state. The Grouts tied the knot on December 29th, 1938. And from the very start, the couple says they knew they would be together for the rest of their lives. So what is their secret?? The Grouts say it's thinking of each other and knowing when to apologize.

A new study may be hard to swallow. It says eating red meat can boost your risk of dying young by up to 20 percent. Harvard University researchers tracked more than 120 thousand men and women for more than two decades. They found that eating a small serving of unprocessed red meat daily, like hamburgers and roast beef, resulted in a 13 percent higher risk of premature death from heart disease and cancer. If the meat was processed, like in a hot dog or slices of bacon, the risk jumped to 20 percent. The study suggests that substituting red meat with foods like fish, poultry, nuts and beans may help people live longer.
