'Dancing With the Stars' Elimination: Chynna Phillips Admits Error, Tweets Thanks and Prayers

Singer-songwriter Chynna Phillips and her professional dance partner Tony Dovolani have been eliminated from season 13 of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Phillips said farewell on Tuesday night’s episode, after scoring just 21 points the day before for her weak tango performance.

“I’m disappointed and I’m sad,” said the singer after her name was announced.

“But I have to take responsibility. I messed up and… I have an amazing partner. I love you, Tony,” added Phillips.

Phillips and Dovolani rehearsed for many hours and appeared to be strong contenders on the show.

However after their performance Monday – dancing to the theme song of “Mission Impossible,” the duo earned their lowest score yet. Chynna offered her thanks and appreciation to her partner as well as the audience.

“He’s been there for me 100 percent the entire way and I’m grateful to have been on this show and have the opportunity. Thank you everyone who voted for me,” said Phillips.

After the show, Phillips wrote messages of prayer and thanks for her fans on her Twitter account.

“Last night was tough. Thank you all for your votes. I pray that you all have a beautiful day. I am keeping my chin up! Thanks to you. Xo,” tweeted Phillips.

Responding to praise and condolences from fans, she also posted, “Your words are appreciated. Thank you! God Bless.”

Phillips appeared on “Good Morning America” Wednesday after being cut from the ABC competition. The singer described the errors she made during her last “DWTS” performance as being similar to the child-like mistake of kicking a soccer ball into the opponent’s net.

“That was the feeling going on inside my stomach when this happened to us the other night, it was not fun,” said Phillips of Monday night’s tango.

Formerly a member of the musical group Wilson Phillips, the star-turned-dancer has been outspoken about her Christian faith on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Phillips released a Christian album after her split form Wilson Phillips, and explained her transition to the Christian media source, Charisma.

“Although I did accomplish a lot of the things I wanted to… as a member of Wilson Phillips, nothing compares to what I’m doing now. Nothing is more gratifying as a Christian believer than being able to thread my faith and love for Jesus into my music,” said the born-again Christian.

Phillips, 43, released “One Reason” in 2009, and reportedly said, “I think some people will be surprised that I’m doing Christian music.”

On “Good Morning America,” Phillips added that she “had a blast in rehearsal” on “DWTS,” and will be taking some time off dancing now that she has been eliminated.
