Dancing With the Stars Performance Night: JR Martinez Scores High

The eight remaining couples have hit the dance floor during “DWTS” 80’s Night with J.R. Martinez now leading the scoreboard for the first time. The night was kicked off with a performance by the classic 80’s band tune from The Bangles, “Walk Like An Egyptian.”

Then, the celebrities have their fifth performance of season 13, with some reaching their highest scores, and others dropped in the rankings.

Actor J.R. Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff walked away with their best scores yet, earning 28 points out of 30 for their Samba to music by Gloria Estefan.

Also earning their best scores on the show so far were David Arquette, Rob Kardashian, and Nancy Grace. Their scores may protect them from elimination Tuesday night, but the same cannot be said for Ricki Lake.

Lake has delivered strong performances so far, but Monday night she and dancing partner Derek Hough received their lowest scores of the season, earning 25 points.

“Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” former star Carson Kressley took the stage with partner Anna Trebunskaya dancing the jive to Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.”

“DWTS” Judge Bruno said, “This is again a crowning achievement in madness” of the performance, and the couple earned the night’s lowest score of 19 out of 30 points.

After the show, “DWTS” co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet posted on her Twitter account about Kressley. “I’ll be so sad if I don’t get to see my funny friend @carsonKressley in Broadway hits next week #DWTS! He cracks us up.”
