Each star contender was introduced along with their professional dance partner before the live voting results were announced. Preceding the first elimination of the season, the audience was able to get an in-depth look at this season’s cast.

“DWTS” host Brooke Charvet, formerly known as Brooke Burke, noted on her Twitter account that parting with dancers during elimination rounds is difficult.

“Tuesdays are tough, too soon to say goodbye to anyone!”

The duos’ performances from the night before were recapped, along with comments from “DWTS” judges. The musical group LMFAO performed during the results show, as well as Emmy Award winner Harry Connick Jr.

Just before the results were in, Chaz Bono wrote, “Getting ready for the first result show of #DWTS13. I hope @LaceySchwimmer and I make it through the week so we can dance for you next week.”

The remaining eleven couples will compete on “Dancing with the Stars” Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
