Smith modeled for Guess in 1992 and appeared in denim-wear ads through 1993.

"Dannielynn has the same playful spirit that her mother had on set," said Guess creative director Paul Marciano in a statement.

The "Anna Nicole Show" star died in 2007 at age 39- just five months after Dannielynn was born- of an accidental drug overdose at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

Following her death, Smith's former boyfriend Birkhead gained full custody and has been raising his daughter ever since.

"Dannielynn had fun paying tribute to her mom with the Guess ad campaign, but it is back to school for her which is her focus," Birkhead told USA Today. "The first thing she asked is, 'When will I be on the shopping bags like Mommy?'"

The daughter of R&B artist Babyface, Peyton Edmonds, also appears in the Guess 2013 spring ad campaign. Elliston Lutz photographed the Guess kids on the beach in Malibu, Calif.

The Guess ads are not the first time Smith's daughter has made waves with the media. Last spring, Birkhead attended the Kentucky Derby- something Smith had done in years past- alongside her father, Larry Birkhead.

"She is having a great day but it more excited to go to 'Toys R Us' after the race," Birkhead said of his daughter to Radar Online.

Birkhead was named after her half-brother and Smith's late son, Daniel Smith. She lives with her father in Louisville, Ky.
