DMX Angry After 'Fix My Life' Airing, Iyanla Vanzant Asks Twitter to Pray
Earl "DMX" Simmons, the 42-year-old rapper, appeared on the second season premiere of OWN's "Iyanla: Fix My Life," but believes the experience may have hurt his image instead of improved his life.
Iyanla Vanzant, the spiritual counselor who hosts "Iyanla:Fix My Life" on the OWN channel, visited DMX in his hometown of Yonkers, N.Y. where she attempted to help him overcome issues with addiction, trouble with the law and his family life. However, the rapper's representatives claimed she did no such thing.
"DMX agreed to be a guest on 'Iyanla: Fix My Life' with the understanding that she would be helping his relationships with his 10 children," the rapper's representative, Domenick Nati of Nati Celebrity Services, told AllHipHop.com recently. "When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting. Iyanla did not 'fix' DMX's life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX's personal written consent to use the footage."

Although the rapper did not seem too happy with the episode or claim that it helped him, he did reveal serious issues with overcoming addiction on the show.
"I will always have a drug problem," DMX told Vanzant on the show. "Just because you stop getting high doesn't mean you don't have a drug problem because it's a constant fight every day ... until I die I will always have a drug problem."
While the rapper told Vanzant that he had thought about suicide in the past, she also told him that if he did not change his behavior he may be putting his life in danger. Despite the fact that DMX spoke out about the show after he filmed with Vanzant, the spiritual counselor took to her Twitter to call for prayer and support from the rapper's fans.
"What if the only way God could get DMX's attention was to use us, his fans and family to say brother we need & want you clean," Vanzant questioned on Twitter in a series of tweets about the rapper and episode of "Fix My Life." "He is a human, let's all hold him that way. Pray people pray! His heart is wounded and he may be afraid to admit it."
